Specific to the 5 Series E39 produced through 2004, this shift knob refreshes the look of the automatic gearbox control on this generation. It does not modify gearbox operation or the mechanical or electronic connection to the selector.

Installation is done by removing the original knob according to its mounting type, then fitting the new one by reversing the procedure.
