On the G20 generation and the M3 G80 (2019-2025), the steering wheel architecture differs from the F30, making these M-Competition look carbon fiber paddle shifters specific to this generation. They change the visual appearance and feel of the gear-change controls without affecting the steering column or any electronic systems.

Mounting is done by clipping onto the factory paddles behind the steering wheel.
