Choosing gloss black over carbon fiber means selecting a uniform lacquered finish that visually transforms the mirrors on the X5 F15 without the visible carbon weave. The shape of the caps follows the M Performance style, and the replacement remains strictly cosmetic: electric adjustment, defrosting, and any turn signals integrated into the housings are not affected.
These caps replace the original covers by clipping onto the housings, with no need to remove the entire mirror assembly.
The X5 F15 covers the years 2014 to 2018; beyond that, the vehicle moves to the G05 generation with housings of a different geometry. This is the main risk of error when ordering. Check your X5’s production year and refer to the compatibility table on the page.
