Mercedes-Benz GLE Body Kits
The GLE holds a unique place in the Mercedes lineup: a full-size SUV that has never given up on elegance. Mercedes-Benz GLE body kits draw on this dual identity to amplify its presence: dressed sill plates, widened bumpers, front splitters that give this SUV the muscular stance of the AMG versions.

The chassis code is on your vehicle registration document. It alone determines compatibility: two vehicles of the same model may not take the same parts depending on their year and phase.

Strengthening the GLE's character through bodywork
The GLE carves its silhouette between two territories: the toughness expected of a large SUV and the elegance claimed by the three-pointed star. On the W166 as well as the W167 or the C167 Coupe, the bodywork is already refined from the factory, with widened wheel arches and bumpers that span the full width of the vehicle. A body kit accentuates that volume: more enveloping front lips, side extensions, rear spoiler, under-bumper diffuser. All of these elements reinforce the GLE's visual stance without making its proportions feel heavy.
AMG influence is naturally present in the kits available for this SUV: sharper angles, sculpted air intakes, rear skirt treatments inspired by high-performance builds. With the right kit, the GLE commands attention that needs no explanation.
Selecting the right Mercedes-Benz GLE body kit by generation: W166, W167, or C167
Mercedes-Benz GLE body kits cover three clearly distinct generations: the W166 (the first GLE generation, previously called the ML), the W167 (the current SUV generation), and the C167 (the fastback Coupe variant). These three silhouettes are noticeably different, particularly between the standard SUV and the Coupe, and no part crosses over from one to the other.
To confirm your generation, the chassis code on your registration document is the safest reference. If you are unsure whether you have a W167 or C167, the simplest indicator is the rear roofline: sloping on the Coupe, straight on the SUV.
Does the original bumper need to be removed to fit a GLE body kit?
It depends on the type of element chosen. A front lip or sill plates are often fitted in addition to the original bumper, using reinforced adhesive and/or screws, without requiring a full removal. A full front or rear bumper replacement, however, means removing the original part to fit the new one in its place. Each product page specifies the type of fixings included and the recommended installation method.
