BMW 2 Series Grilles

The 2 Series inherited the compact proportions of BMW's great sporting tradition, with the double kidney grille as its calling card. Modifying BMW 2 Series grilles means working on the most defining element of the front end, steering it toward an M Performance look or a sharper, cleaner stance. On the coupe and the Gran Coupe alike, the effect is immediate.

From 59,00 € to 109,00 € depending on the finish. Available finishes: carbon.

The chassis code is on your vehicle registration document. It alone determines compatibility: two vehicles of the same model may not take the same parts depending on their year and phase.

The double kidney grille on the 2 Series: a natural canvas for enthusiasts

The double kidney grille is BMW's visual DNA, and on the 2 Series it takes a particularly compact, tight form that suits the character of the model. Swapping the factory grilles for cross-bar, hexagonal mesh, or dense-pattern inserts is one of the most effective ways to bring a standard F22 or F44 closer to the M Performance look. The front end changes character: the kidney frames become darker, more taut, and the entire front bumper looks sharper.

On the F87, the genuine M2, the front grille already comes worked from the factory, but owners often look to push things further to emphasize the car's pure character. A tighter-pattern grille meets that goal without making irreversible changes to the front end.

Choosing your BMW 2 Series grilles: what changes between the F22, F44, and F87

Choosing correctly starts with identifying your exact generation. The F22 is the two-door rear-wheel-drive coupe, with several references available here. The F44 is the Gran Coupe with a more modern front end, covered by one specific reference. The F87 is the pure M2, with its own reference matched to its specific cutout. These three generations do not share the same bumper shape or the same kidney spacing: compatibility depends on the exact chassis, to be verified in field D.2 of your registration document.

For the F22 and F44, style choices often come down to classic vertical-bar designs inspired by M Performance grilles versus tighter mesh patterns with a more prepared look. For the F87, the goal is generally to push the front end graphic treatment even further.

Can an M Performance grille be fitted to an entry-level F22?

Technically, M Performance-style grilles are compatible with any F22 regardless of the original equipment level, provided the front bumper is the standard or Sport Line version. If your F22 already has the M Exterior Pack, check the exact cutout of the part: some M bumpers have a slightly different contour.
