The parts available here cover exclusively the third-generation TT, known by its internal designation 8S, with two options offered for this platform. If your TT is an 8N (first generation) or an 8J (second generation), these paddle shifters are not compatible: the mounting systems and connectors differ. The chassis number in column E2 of your registration document will confirm the generation in seconds.

On the TT 8S, the choice between the two parts comes down mainly to grip profile and paddle length, to be matched to the way you hold the wheel during dynamic driving.

Do Audi TT paddle shifters work if the vehicle has a manual transmission?

No. Aftermarket shift paddles are designed to work with automatic transmissions that support manual control: S tronic, DSG, or a conventional automatic in sequential mode. On a manual transmission version, there is no electronic gear-change signal to trigger from the steering wheel, and installing paddle shifters would have no effect. Check your TT's transmission type before placing an order.
