What the Golf 5 driver gains with this head unit is access to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay from the center console, replacing the factory unit. Steering wheel controls, if originally fitted on your vehicle, along with all other onboard equipment, are not affected by this replacement.

Installation involves removing the existing head unit and connecting the new unit to the connectors already in place in the vehicle.
