The M-Competition look here is based on a carbon finish that sets these paddle shifters apart from a standard aluminum version. For the 3 Series F30 and the M3 F80 from 2012 to 2019, they replace the appearance of the controls located behind the steering wheel without touching the column mechanics or the onboard electronics.

Installation is done by clipping onto the factory paddles, with no specific tools or dashboard modification required.
