The electric trunk release button on the A5 B8 occupies a different position and has a different profile than the one on the A4 B8, making the two parts non-interchangeable. This replacement only concerns the control itself; the tailgate mechanism, motor, and existing wiring are not modified.

Installation is limited to unclipping the old button, unplugging the connector, then fitting the new one without any specialized tools.
